Trey Mackey



Trey Mackey serves as the CEO of The Mackey House.

     With his education focused on marketing, Trey began his career in property development.  But growing up in a hospitality family, he continued to help with multiple Mackey House events.  Guiding the company with contemporary marketing strategies, Trey now continues the vision of his grandfather and mother to create one of the finest event venues in the south.

Evidence of Trey’s enthusiasm is noticeable by his commitment to improving the grounds and enhancements of the farm.  Providing the best guest experience through modern amenities coupled with traditional southern style continues to be an important focus.  Trey believes in developing new business strategies and reaching the destination clients in unique ways. He lives by the life motto “If you always do what you always did, you will get what you always got.”-Albert Einstein


     In his free time Trey enjoys boating and being on the water.  Fitness, focus, and financials are his preferred reading material!

Celebrity Event Planner

James Robert Schaefer


Celebrity Event Planner Rob Schaefer is Chief Sales Officer for the Mackey House.

     Using his 30 years of venue management, catering and party planning experience, he is responsible for recruiting, training and developing the sales team. 

     Rob has conducted seminars on wedding planning and entertaining for gatherings of 6 to 600 and has been a featured hospitality columnist with design editorial in over 18 publications. The Missouri native was the inaugural inductee into the St. Louis Wedding Hall of Fame after assisting with over 2,000 weddings during his career. 

His former clients include President Barack Obama, Senator Hillary Clinton, Harrison Ford, Joan Rivers, John Waters, Nelly, Tim Tebow, The Atlanta Falcons and Queen Elizabeth’s Nephew, David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley.  He is a NACE, ILEA, and Wish Upon a Wedding award winner. 


     Rob is also responsible for expanding the property and creating fresh revenue streams.  Known for his sophisticated, edited and personalized look, he will continue assisting Mackey House clients with design, decor and logistics.  Rob loves antique shopping, traveling and enjoys being involved in the local community,  He is available for seminars and group presentations on entertaining and style.     Elizabeth Womble is a Client Manager at The Mackey House

    Elizabeth is able to customize your event based on your individual needs. She understands that no two events are the same and will work diligently to make sure you have the best experience possible.  Guiding you through the planning process and connecting you to the right vendors is her priority.


     Elizabeth has an educational background in Meeting and Event Planning. She attended American Public University and pursued her B.A. in Hospitality Management. Her education combined with over 19 years of experience working in the field of luxury hospitality makes her uniquely qualified to assist you.


     Elizabeth has had the opportunity to live abroad and travel all over the world. Her passion for cooking and exploring culinary from so many cultures makes dinner at her home a delight!  This Illinois native loves the outdoors and is a master fisherman.

Sales Support Manager


     As a member of the Mackey family, Shelley has extensive knowledge of The Mackey House and has played many different roles over the years.  As the Sales Support Manager, Shelley facilitates final planning sessions and is instrumental in editing and invoicing our events.


     Shelley loves to focus on the fine details and is our Proposal and Elopement Specialist.  She loves working with future grooms to plan the ultimate Marriage Proposal event…complete with flowers, dinner and music.  She will work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that your Elopement is a success and has created a special Elopement Ceremony that can be followed with strawberries and champagne, wedding cake or light pastry/hors d’oeuvres.
