Celebrating July Fourth
Happy Fourth of July from The Mackey House! We hope you have a splendid day celebrating this holiday and our nation’s independence. This day remains special to all of us proud Americans, and we would like to share some holiday wedding inspiration for all of the patriotic brides out there!
The first thing you need at a Fourth of July themed wedding are American flags of course! You can give out little flags for guests to wave as wedding favors or create interesting centerpieces with them for reception tables.
Nautical is a theme that is taking off these days and it’s also a fun spin off the red, white and blue color scheme. Incorporating details like knotted ropes and anchors can add a lot of romantic symbolism to your wedding. We are in love with this stunning cake that includes all of those elements, while still evoking a level of simplicity.
Who doesn’t love a good cocktail on July Fourth? Create a Fourth of July signature drink for all your guests to sip on. The Food Network has an awesome list of drinks and recipes for this holiday, including the one provided in this photo!
Our recent post titled, “The Perfect Summer Wedding” mentioned the idea of giving fans for guests to cool down with as wedding favors. To expand on that idea, we thought of adding an American flag on it for a more patriotic look. Guests will find ones like this photo to be absolute perfection!
The Mackey House loves a good wedding send off, and these red, white and blue star sprinkles (photographed by Michelle Lange Photography; featured on Geneva Wedding) are adorable.
This is an awesome dessert station that embodies classic American sweets. We love the idea of mixing something traditional like caramel apples and cookies with something modern like cake pops and cupcakes. Add some stars and stripes and red, white and blue and you’ve got an American wedding!
Fourth of July would not be complete without fireworks. One way to incorporate this on your wedding day is by distributing sparklers for your guests to use as a fabulous send off like the one in this photo captured by Dream Weaver Photos during one of our own receptions. We would like to remind everyone that The Mackey House also provides fireworks as one of our services, so this is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of it!
