Homemade Eggnog

Homemade eggnog is well worth the effort.

  • 2/3 cups of bourbon
  • 1 pint of whipping cream

Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks until light. Add bourbon and rum a tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. The next day, beat egg whites, add sugar gradually and continue beating. Whip the cream and fold it into the egg yolk mixture. Then fold in the egg white mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve it with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
