Wedding Fun for All Generations
Nieces, nephews, best friends and grandparents: most weddings have to be entertaining for people of all ages. Today, we want to share some suggestions for making sure that every single guest, no matter the age, has an incredible time on your big night. Specifically, we are going to focus on two opposite ends of the age spectrum: children and grandparents.
Weddings are a family affair and children are bound to be in attendance so it is always a good idea to simply keep your expectations in check. No child is going to act perfect all the time so just go with it! There are plenty of easy (and inexpensive) ways to keep the kids on their best behavior. For example, during the actual ceremony, giving the smaller kids wedding themed coloring books will keep them quiet and in their seats long enough for you to be able to enjoy the big moment.
During the reception however, there may be too much going on for the children to stay focused on their artwork. If there are going to be a lot of kids at your wedding, it may be a good idea to hire a background-checked babysitter to entertain them with games and tasty treats.
We also love the idea of giving some of the children an important wedding day “job.” Cheap disposable cameras are easy ways to provide hours of fun for young children. Send them out into the crowd with the mission of getting the best pictures; you might be surprised at how seriously they take it.
On the other side of the spectrum, we have the grandparents who are a piece of cake when compared to the little ones. For this generation of guests, you should be mindful to have plenty of seating for everybody, as well as a wide variety of reception music, to ensure they will enjoy themselves on the dance floor as well.
While these are just a few of the ways that you can make your wedding fun for everyone, as always, the most important thing is for you to have the time of your life. Because when guests see you enjoying yourself, they cannot help but follow.
