Mackey House News: Feature on Blush Photos Blog!
We are just beside ourselves with Blush Wedding Photography’s recent feature on Mackey House couple Stevie and Tommy!
We met Tommy, Stevie and their wedding party at The Mackey House on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in February . We began with getting ready photos in the Bridal Suite and then strolled the grounds capturing stunning Bridal Portraits culminating in the couple’s “first look.” Vows followed by a warm glowing fire in the covered pavilion situated behind the Mackey House. Guests then proceeded to the garden area to enjoy the cocktail hour with Hors D’oeuvres followed by a wonderful group photo and finally the first dance at the arbor. The group then moved to the upper deck for dinner, several toasts, followed by dessert. The love the families shared for one another was obvious as they danced the night away backlit by fireworks set off against the night sky.
What made you decide to have your wedding in Savannah and how did you select The Mackey House as your Ceremony and Reception location?
We wanted a destination wedding thought it was a beautiful area. It was a beautiful location and they offer everything to make it as stress free as possible for destination weddings.Do you visit the Savannah area often?
We have been in Savannah quite a few times since deciding to have our wedding here.
What are some of your favorite local places that you recommend to others? Wet Willies, Moon River Brewery, River Street is great for anything and a “must do” is a Ghost Tour with Peg Leg Ron!You were both very active in the planning process, could you describe how you decided who would handle each task?
We both took part in the planning. I chose to have the wedding in Savannah and Tommy found The Mackey House venue to host it and from there we both just split up duties of the planning. Tommy took on more of the work of dealing with all of the vendors and I dealt with the details of the decor, cake, wedding party attire, etc. It ended up being a good fit.– Nikki Y.
