The 2013 Cancer Survivor Glam Squad “Diamond Ball” to be Held at The Mackey House

On Saturday, January 12, 2013, The Mackey House, a local Savannah wedding and special events venue will welcome The Survivor Glam Squad, hosts of the “Diamond Ball” benefit to raise money for Cancer Survivor Makeovers aboard the 2013 Fashion Fundraiser Cruise.  The black-tie-optional event will be held from 7 PM to 10 PM. Tickets are available for $40 per person and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music from Liquid Ginger, and a nomination form. Every person who purchases a ticket may use the form to nominate a local female cancer survivor. The winner will receive an all-expense paid cruise for two and a Glam Squad Makeover while on board. Proceeds help pay for the cost of the makeovers and offset the cost of the cruise to some survivors. A cash bar and silent auction will also be available.

The Survivor Glam Squad uplifts women suffering from cancer and gives them the experience of a professional photo shoot, complete with hair/wigs, make-up, wardrobe, fashion tips, and the opportunity to meet other women going through similar experiences. Past makeover recipients applaud the makeovers and credit them for increasing their self-confidence and helping them recognize their own beauty in the face of their struggles.
